This internship is part of the Academy Gold Rising program, an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members. SALARY: $16.25 / hour. Limited term internship position beginning in June 2023 through August 2023.

Duties:

  • Assist Production Specialist and Director of OHP in oral history production planning and logistics
  • Assist in day-of shoot logistics, coordination (runner) and notetaking
  • Interviewee research and production of reference materials for OHP staff
  • Using VH Program materials, locate relevant interview segments for inclusion in Museum exhibits, programming, and social media
  • Assist department staff with tasks related to transcription, file naming, and organization
  • Writing interview summaries, abstracts and bios, and collection profiles
  • General office assistance.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Community college, trade school, and university undergraduate or graduate students from the class of 2023 or 2024 in good academic standing
  • Minimum of 2.8 GPA
  • Knowledge of and interest in international film history
  • Data entry and file management
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Interest in and/or experience with cataloging and data entry
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets including Excel and Google Docs
  • Ability to learn new software
  • Problem solving, multitasking and project management skills
