AV Archives Assistant Manager 

Position Objective: To assist the Audio-Visual (A/V) Archives Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the A/V Archives Department.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist the Archives Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the A/V Archives
  • Supervise the A/V Archives team in the organization, description, and retrieval of audio-visual materials and related documentation
  • In consultation and verified compliance with the objectives, standards, and requirements communicated by PETA and its affiliates
  • Participate in the management of timelines of A/V Archives requests and projects for PETA, its affiliates, and third parties
  • Review use of material from the A/V Archives and approve for external distribution relative to intellectual property rights
  • Assist the Archives Manager with generating standard operating procedures and updating existing standard operating procedures as needed
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Archives Manager

Position Requirements:

  • Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with A/V archives
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of best practices in digital preservation strategies
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to deal professionally with staff members and the public
  • Proven ability to exercise discretion when working with confidential material
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organization
